Full Name: Remus John Lupin. Nickname: Moony Date of Birth: March 10th 1958. Ancestry: Half Blood. Parents: Unknown Witch and Wizard. Grandparents: Unknown. Eye Colour: Rumoured to be Green but flashes amber when Moony takes over. Hair Colour: Sandy brown with flecks of grey. Complexion: Pale and often sickly Distinguishing Features: Long deep scars on his face and neck. (Movie) House: Gryffindor. Current Residency: 12 Grimmauld Place. Wand: Unknown Patronus: Although it is never mentioned in the books or movies, we know Remus can conjure a corporeal Patronus. He warded off the Dementor intent of sucking out Harry's soul on the train to Hogwarts. Boggart: In PoA, Remus see's Harry standing in front of the Boggart and fears it will turn into Voldemort, in an attempt to protect his students he dived in front of the Boggart and changed it's shape into what Hermione believes is a Crystal ball. We find out later it is the Full Moon he is afraid of. Other Information: Remus Lupin is a werewolf bitten by the feared and deranged Fenrir Greyback when he was 5. In the summer before Remus's 1st year, Dumbledore planted the Whomping Willow, over a tunnel leading to a house he built. He named it the Shrieking Shack and allowed Remus to transform there unhindered. Career: What Remus did for a living before PoA is so far unknown, he was Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher for one year, before Severus Snape revealed he was a werewolf, forcing the Professor to resign. Skills: While Remus is not known for his magical skill certain elements in the books and movie prove this theory to be incorrect. He can produce a corporeal Patronus, A round ball of flames without a wand, he defended the school against Death Eater's and was the only one unharmed. While at the Department of Mysteries the only two Wizards not to be hurt were Remus and Dumbledore. He helped to create the Marauders Map and is said to be skilled in Arithmancy, DaDa and Transfiguration. Years in Hogwarts. Upon arriving at Hogwarts Remus Lupin had no friends. He was a quiet and studious boy who concentrated on his studies. He lived a lonely existence until he was befriended by James Potter and Sirius Black. The two Wizards along with Peter Pettigrew became his best friends. When they found out about his "Furry Little Problem" His three friends taught themselves to be Animagus. A skill Minerva Mcgonagall says is very difficult and not everyone can do it. They called themselves The Marauders. Remus named Moony for his monthly problem, Sirius named Padfoot after his Animagus Dog, James as Prongs for his Animagus Stag and Peter as Wormtail for his Animagus Rat. Remus has always been frightened of losing control while in Werewolf form and Severus Snape was almost killed by the young Wizard. Remus, the lovely werewolf, is written as both a dark and potentially evil character, and as a sad lonely one, in search of love in many of the wrong places.Stories abound of the Marauders antics, of their years at Hogwarts and after their graduation, before the loss of the Potters but often Remus is in the background of these stories. He is paired with various females notably Hermoine Granger and Lily Evans (Potter). He is also paired with males, primarily Sirius Black and Severus Snape although there are stories involving Harry as well as the Weasley Twins. Moony makes many appearances as the "naughty" side of Remus, he is a popular character with hundreds of fan fictions written about him.
