Full Name: Sirius Black Nickname: Padfoot. Date of Birth: 1958. Ancestry: Pure Blood. Parents: Orion and Walburga Black(nee. Black). Grandparents: Arcturus Black, Melania Macmillan, Pollux Black, and Irma Crabbe. Eye Colour: Grey. Hair Colour: Black and Long. Complexion: Pale. Distinguishing Features: Described as devastatingly Handsome. In the books Sirius iis described as gaunt and pale with rotting teeth and matted hair. In PoA he fits this desctiption, however he is covered in tattoos, most notably his Azkaban Prisoner Tattoo. House: Gryffindor. Current Residency: 12 Grimmauld Place, Beyond the Veil, Deceased. Wand: 15 Inch, Wood and Core unknown. Patronus: Although widely rumoured to be able to conjure a Patronus there is no canon facts to support this. Boggart: Unknown. Animagus: A big black dog resembling the Grim. Other Information: Career: There are no canon facts to support any claim of Sirius Black's occupation. Before he was a prisoner of Azkaban he most likely lived off the Black Family fortune which was automatically given to him upon his parents deaths. His most important job to date is a Godfather to Harry Potter. Skills: Sirius Black is highly skilled with charms and managed to become an Animagi as a 16 year old. He helped to create the Marauders Map and bewitched his Motorcycle to fly. Years in Hogwarts. Starting Hogwarts in 1971 Sirius Black went against hundreds of years of Black Pure Blood history and was sorted into Gryffindor. A disgrace to his family, Sirius befriended James Potter and the pair became inseperable. Known for his quick wit and intelligence, Sirius was also a ladies man, having numerous girlfriends but never falling in love. His fued with Severus Snape was legendary, early on it was harmless taunting and pranking. Sirius describing Severus as a weird little wizard who knew more dark cursed than anyone else. Towards the end of his time in Hogwarts the fued between Severus and Sirius reached its pinacle. Sirius told Snape how to enter the tunnel leading to the Shrieking Shack where Remus was confined due to the full moon, expecting for Snape to meet with a transformed Lupin. Upon entering the tunnel Severus Snape nearly died when faced with the werewolf Moony. Forced to rescue Snape, James Potter incurred a life debt that carried over to this son Harry. He claimed that it served Snape right for not knowing when to keep his nose out of other peoples business. At age 16 Sirius left the Black House and sought refuge with the Potters. His mother in a fit of rage burnt his name off the family tree. (As per OoTP) After Hogwarts. Sirius Black was the best man at the wedding of James Potter and Lily Evans. And made Godfather to their newborn son Harry James. He joined the Order of the Phoenix straight out of school and was made The Potter's secret keeper when word leaked out that they were targets of Lord Voldemort. After changing Secret Keepers at the last moment to Peter Pettigrew, Sirius was mad with grief upon finding out of his friends betrayal. Confronting Peter in a muggle street the former friends duelled. Peter faking his own death and blowing up the street killing dozens of Muggles. Sent to Azkaban Prison for 12 years, Sirius was kept alive by his hatred and the one thought that he was innocent. Reading a copy of the Daily Prophet with the news that The Weasley's had won the galleon pot and had gone to Egypt, SIrius spotted his former friend Peter on Ron Weasley's shoulder and vowed revenge. Changing into his Animagus form of Padfoot he slipped through the bars and escaped the prison. Intent on finding Peter he infiltrated Hogwarts. The first occasion slitting the painting of the Fat Lady to gain entry into the tower. Second he attacked Rons bed curtains in an attempt to find Scabbers. Harry sees Sirius several times during PoA but mistakes him for the Grim which has been plaguing his every waking moment. The climax is reached when Ronald Weasley is dragged into the tunnel under the Whomping Willow by a big black dog. Harry and Hermione follow only to be confronted by Sirius. Sirius nearly loses his life that night, his soul being sucked out by Dementors. Only to be saved by the Corporeal Patronus of Harry Potter and the time turner of Hermione Granger. Sirius Black helps Harry through some rough time during Goblet of Fire and in Order of the Phoenix we see a first glimpse into the madness that plagues the Black Family. Depression and lonliness causing Sirius to be reckless and foolish. His cockiness ended up getting him killed in the Department Of Mysteries after a duel with his cousin Bellatrix. She curses him and sends him through the Veil, believed to be the corridor between the living and the dead. Prisoner of Azkaban. "Er - Mr. Black - Sirius? . . . If you don't mind me asking, how - how did you get out of Azkaban, if you didn't use Dark Magic?" ". . . I don't know how I did it. I think the only reason I never lost my mind is that I knew I was innocent. That wasn't a happy thought, so the dementors couldn't suck it out of me . . . but it kept me sane and knowing who I am . . ." Hermione: If you're going to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us, too. Sirius Black: No, only one will die tonight. Sirius swings up onto Buckbeak, and
looks down at Hermione. Sirius to Ron about Hermione being upset over Winky's treatment. Sirius shook his head and said,"She’s got the measure of Crouch better than you have, Ron. If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals." General Quotes. "You should have died! Died rather than betray your friends, as we would have done for you!" Sirius to Peter. "If you made a better rat than a human, that's not much to boast about." "What was there to be gained by fighting the most evil wizard who has ever existed? Only innocent lives, Peter." "There's enough filth on my robes without you touching them." "I'll look for him later, I expect I'll find him upstairs crying his eyes out over my mother's old bloomers or something...Of course, he might have crawled up into the airing cupboard and died...But I mustn't get my hopes up..." Sirius about Kreacher. "Of course, any time the family produced someone halfway decent they were disowned." Sirius on the Black Family Tree. He was laughing at her. "Come on, you can do better than that!" he yelled, his voice echoing around the cavernous room. The second jet of light hit him squarely on the chest. Sirius to Bellatrix in the department of Mysteries. Marauder's Map to Snape: "Mr. Padfoot would like to register his astonishment that an idiot like that ever became a professor." Sirius "Enough talk, let's kill him! " Lupin "Wait!" Sirius "I DID MY WAITING! TWELVE YEARS OF IT! IN AZKABAN!" All right, then," Black said, without taking his eyes off the rat. "Tell them whatever you like. But make it quick, Remus. I want to commit the murder I was imprisoned for... "Not if he thought I was the spy, Peter," said Lupin. "I assume that's why you didn't tell me, Sirius?" he said casually over Pettigrew's head. "Forgive me, Remus," said Black. "Not at all, Padfoot, old friend," said Lupin, who was now rolling up his sleeves. "And will you forgive me for believing you were the spy?" "Of course," said Black, and the ghost of a grin flitted across his gaunt face. He, too, began rolling up his sleeves. "Shall we kill him together?" "What was there to be gained by fighting the most evil wizard that ever existed?" said Black, with a terrible fury in his face. "Only innocent lives, Peter!" "You don't understand!" whined Pettigrew, "He would have killed me, Sirius!" "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" roared Black. "DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!" “Once again you've put your keen and penetrating mind to the task and as usual come to the wrong conclusion. Now if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have some unfinished business to attend to." ”It's cruel that I got to spend so much time with James and Lily, and you so little.
